Lighting Showcase and Room Reveal

November 9, 2020

I finally completed my daughters room, and to say I am over the moon with it would be an understatement! Lets recap what the room looked like when we started this process.

It was a real beaut (sarcasm). I knew my daughter deserved a better space, and I had always dreamed of giving her a princess room. I knew I didn’t want a space that would only last a couple years, but one that would grow with her and evolve as her style and tastes did too.

I created this mood board, and truthfully they two components that set this room a part from any other are the molding details and the lighting from Crystorama. Getting the opportunity to collaborate with Crystorama was a dream, and then to be able to give her these light fixtures was amazing. Here is the mood board that I had created, it varies slightly from the original as I had to change the rug, but ultimately I think I prefer this look better than the original.

The lighting that I chose was the Broche 6 light chandelier in the matte white and the Libby Langdon for Crystorama Sylvan 2 light in gold.

When I received both the lights, they were very easy to assemble. The sconces simply needed the shades placed on, and the chandelier needed came fully assembled when it came out of the box.

I documented both the light fixtures on Instagram, and I saved them to the highlight real “ORC Lighting”.

To install these light fixtures we needed to run wiring throughout my daughters room, luckily my father is handy and was able to fish the wires through the ceilings and walls. I documented how to install the sconce on instagram under the highlight real “Light box”, but here is how I connected the sconce to that box!

The chandelier was a 2 person team, and I would recommend making sure to have an electrician help install an item like this, unless you know of a person who is licensed.

The Final Reveal!

Once both the lights were installed, the rug was in place and the everything was placed in its spot the room was complete. I was smitten, as was my daughter. We had some family over to celebrate my sons birthday and she made sure to give everyone the grand tour, and every person was ooo’ing and aaa’ing over the space, lights were a crowd favorite!

Here are some images and different angles that I didn’t show on Instagram!

I hope you enjoyed the watching her room evolve. I am so proud of it, and really hope it has inspired you to tackle a space in your own home!

Now onto my master bathroom, that is sure to be a major before and after!
