Creating a Bedroom Retreat

August 14, 2020

If you have been following along on my Instagram page then you know I’ve been working to bring my master bedroom to life. I took to the Joss and Main site to find the perfect pieces to create that bedroom retreat I was looking for.

As I scoured their site I found so many pieces that fit my style, but that could be used throughout the year and have a timeless look

For my bedroom, I had a vision of what my bed was going to look like, if you recall I built that bed frame and my vision for this started from a bed I had found on Joss and Main.

The Bed

When you are designing your space, the bed you choose can really set the tone for the space. I have always eyed the Milan Upholstered Bed, and love the soft and sleek look in brought to so many of the spaces I have seen it in.

It was absolutely my inspiration and the starting point in building my inspiration board.

If you have a tighter budget or your space doesn’t warrant a full frame, Joss and Main actually carries just the headboard of this bed, and this paired with a metal frame or platform base would be perfect!

Nightstands

Next I focused on the nightstands. For my space, I needed something with a large size, as I needed the storage. I absolutely love a nightstand that not only is beautiful, but also functional. Ones with drawers that can be used as a small dresser, and one to conceal the day to day clutter that collects on our nightstands.

I found the Bachelors Chest on Joss and Main, and I fell in love with the shape of the legs, and the gold ring pulls. It is giving me the itch to possible paint my nightstands!

Dresser

After I found the nightstands, it was time that I narrow down a good dresser for this bedroom design. I thought of going white, however I with a white upholstered bed and white nightstands, I needed to add some warmth.

The Naomi Reclaimed dresser caught my eye with its reclaimed wood look and modern design. It was the perfect addition to this space to balance the all the white.

These pieces are your main pieces that will be the heavy focal points of the space, from here you can add the character you want in order to tailor the look towards the colors and style you like.

For me, I love blues so when I saw this rug I knew it would be the perfect piece to add that coastal look that I really love.

From here, I added the necessary accessories that the room needed, like lamps, faux plants, curtains, mirrors and pillows for the bed. In the table below you can find these pieces and the links to each product!

I hope that you found this helpful, and gather ideas to make a bedroom retreat for your own space!
